Jeanmarie B. Shea
Ms. Shea is a principal of the firm and a member of the firm's Trusts and Estates Group. She focuses her practice in the areas of estate and tax planning, probate, trust administration, and philanthropic giving.
Ms. Shea counsels individuals and families with respect to a wide variety of asset management, preservation, and transfer issues and techniques, and works with them to develop and implement estate plans designed to meet their personal and financial goals and objectives while minimizing applicable income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes. Ms. Shea has significant experience representing individual and professional fiduciaries as well as non-charitable and charitable beneficiaries in complex estate, trust, tax, and related matters involving the probate courts, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services.

Jeanmarie is a graduate of Yale University (B.A. in Economics, cum laude, 1980), and the University of Connecticut School of Law (J.D., with honors, 1985), where she was Executive Editor of the Connecticut Law Review.

Ms. Shea has served on the Executive Committee of the Estates & Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Professional Advisory Committee of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Professional Advisory Council of the University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc., and the Legal and Tax Panel of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford. She is a past member and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Mark Twain House & Museum and a past President of The College Club of Hartford.
